Memorial awards

The Memorial Awards were established to honor Branch members who have passed away. The event is supported by individual donations made in honor of specific members and with various fundraisers.
Rules and Guidelines:
1. There will be two categories: Junior and Senior. The Junior Division is for ages up to 14 and levels 4 and above. The Senior Division is for ages 15 to 18 and level 8 and above. When registering the student, please consider the student’s age on the day of the competition.
2. Junior category requirements are as follows; two pieces of different periods, both of which must be memorized. Audition time limit is eight minutes total. Pieces must be CM Level 4 and above.
3. Senior category requirements are as follows; two pieces of different periods, both of which must be memorized. Audition time limit is ten minutes total. Pieces must be CM Level 8 and above.
4. The entry fee for both divisions is $35. 5. All contestants must provide scores for the judges.
6. The Memorial Awards is an MTAC competition open to students of active teachers who are members of the SFWV Branch only.
7. All rules and guidelines of the General Recitals shall apply to this event.
8. Memorial Awards Competition Senior Division Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $400, 3rd Place $300. Junior Division Awards: 1st Place $350, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $150. A separate stipend of $150 will be granted to instrumentalist performers to help cover costs of their accompanist.
9. Winners and Honorable Mentions have to perform ONE piece of their choice (from their audition two pieces) in the Memorial Awards Concert in order to receive their cash awards and certificates. Teachers of all performing students must be present at the concert. 10. Please check the calendar for the dates and deadlines of applications, competition, and the concert.
